No table for a party of ten even thought booked one

On 30th january we telephoned our local "Pizza Hut" and booked for a party of ten people for a thirteenth birthday party. We were told that there was indeed a slot a four o'clock and that it was in the time scale of the new offer thats on. We booked this slot. A couple of hours later we found out that we could not make this time and promptly telephoned again to reschedule. The young man said that this was not a problem and rescheduled us to shortly before six o'clock as to qualify for the specail offer. Our party of ten arrived at the restuarant at alittle after five o'clock, queued for ten minutes only to be told there was no table reserved for us. This young lady who was completely unsympatetic to our situation refused to acknowledge their mistake, and exasperated the situation with poor manners and argued that yes we were in the book but argued we also cancelled (which was not the case) and that there was no more tables available until after six, we were told that we could wait upto 45-50 minutes on spec that a table MIGHT occur. Or seat our family all around the roomwhich was a hidious thought. Why on earth did the man not explain that we couldnt be seated because they were fully booked? Why didnt he tell us that we may have to wait and hopefully by chance a large party of ten could be seated?? It was my sons birthday, we had balloons and a cake and presents to hand out. We had been adivised them at the booking that this was a birthday party and he even explained that they could come out with the birthday cake. This was a huge embaressing and upsetting situation, we had relatives that had travelled from along distance to join our group and celbrate my childs birthday. She had no time for us and under the present climate any people finding spare money to dine out should be greeted in a respectful manner and in this instance the staff at Warrington Albion Pizza Hut it was not the case.
