Unethical Business
Further to complaint listed on your website 08-03; I have experienced a similar scenario.
My purchase date was 07-02 for a Panasonic HC-X900 camcorder, costing GB £629-95, on Order No: 129272-822282.
I became suspicious of Simplyelectronics.net, integrity, when receiving e-mail dated 07-10 which read,
QUOTE ‘Upon packing your order, we had discovered that our shipment of the camcorder was damaged, and therefore had to be returned. Unfortunately, the replacements are not expected to arrive within any short period of time, therefore we had cancelled your order, and you will be able to receive your refund soon. If there is an alternative item that is required from your side do not hesitate to place the order on the website.’ UNQUOTE.
I have exchanged many e-mails with Simplyelectronics.net - Customer Service Executives, asking for money refund ; whilst I remained patient and courteous throughout; they always gave misleading promises.
The GB £629-95 was paid by a Lloyds TSB VISA Debit card; I subsequently got in touch with my bank department, named Card Fraud & Disputes Fraud Risk Management Team who took up matter and have reimbursed me the full amount. To date they have not recovered refund from seller’s bank, though the statutory 45-day period given by Lloyds TSB does not expire until September 22nd (from August 8th). It is possible my bank may take a loss in this fiasco, which is indeed unethical business practice.
